Teens @ VOS

8th and 9th grade girls are invited to participate in Rosh Hodesh (a Moving Traditions curriculum). Through discussion, arts & crafts, creative ritual, games, and drama, girls and their leaders draw on Jewish values and a gender lens to explore the issues the girls care about most, such as body image, friendship, relationships, family, competition and stress. This group meets monthly for 2 hours. Cost: $360 VOS member/ $460 non-member.

8th and 9th grade boys can now stay connected to Judaism after Bar Mitzvah with Shevet Achim (a Moving Traditions curriculum).  Find guidance, friendship and a sense of purpose that Judaism can provide, when most needed. Class meets once a month. Cost: $360 VOS member/ $460 non-member.

Seniority! High School seniors take over our Chaplain’s guest house for cooking, conversation and time together dedicated to spiritual and personal growth during a dizzying time of transition. Starting in February. Cost: $180 VOS member/ $220 non-member.

Madrichim - Post B’nai Mitzvah teens can assist JEM teachers with Hebrew and Judaic lessons while developing leadership and teaching skills. No fee. Ages 16+ can get paid!

Teen Youth Groups – Separate groups for Middle School & High School Teens: Monthly activities where teens can socialize, have fun and meet other Jewish teens. (Friday or Saturday evenings, or Sunday afternoons). Non-members welcome! $100 registration + cost per activity

Teen Community Events – For all teens 13+: These outreach events are open to the entire community of teens and will connect, inspire and feed our souls while giving back in meaningful ways. Examples of events include community service projects, meeting with Holocaust survivors and Shabbat dinner with the Rabbi. Events will be held quarterly. Cost varies per event.
