VOS Anti-Racism Task Force Mission / Vision / Goal Statements

VOS Anti-racism Task Force Mission Statement
The purpose of the Valley Outreach Synagogue Anti-racism Task Force is to end racism, bigotry and prejudice in our community and beyond. In an effort to advance the goal of anti-racism both individually and systemically, the Task Force provides opportunities for people to better understand the underlying causes and effects of racism, and engage in earnest dialogue and self-reflection that challenges prevalent assumptions, understandings of race, and the systems that reinforce racial inequality.

Anti-racism Task Force Statement

The Anti-racism Task Force envisions a world unencumbered by the effects of individual racism, systemic racism, and racial inequality. The Task Force will leverage community partnerships to provide non-judgmental and supportive educational opportunities to explore personal awareness of racism by providing workshops, panels, and discussions.

Goals of the VOS ARTF:

  • To create a space free of judgment in our workshops/ discussions.

  • To provide a space for people to ask anonymous questions and engage without fear of being labeled.

  • To advance the goal of anti-racism both individually and systemically.

  • To end racism.
