Music is central to everything VOS! Our Founding Music Director Jack Bielan was a Gold Record producer and keyboardist before dedicating himself to VOS and to outstanding, innovative synagogue music for thirty-three years.

Music Director Gerald Sternbach brings an exceptional background of musical theater and film composition to his music direction at VOS.

We are rich in musical talent at VOS. Our rabbi sang leading roles in opera houses and concert halls around the world as well as musical theater in London’s West End. Our rebbetzin Bronwen played leading roles in musical theater throughout the United Kingdom and in the West End. Our honorary cantor Michael Li-Paz, our rabbi’s father, sang leading roles in major opera houses in the United States and Israel. In addition, LA’s best session musicians accompany VOS Shabbat and holiday services.
