Ron Li-Paz is the spiritual leader and cantor of Valley Outreach Synagogue.  He is a post graduate rabbinical student at the Academy of Jewish Religion in Los Angeles.  Ron’s prior studies were at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London as well as with notable rabbis, cantors and vocal instructors in New York, Los Angeles and London. He became the cantor of Valley Outreach Synagogue in 1996.  Ron shared the leadership of the synagogue with his colleague and mentor, Rabbi Jerry Fisher, until Rabbi Fisher’s retirement in 2006. He then became the spiritual leader of the congregation.

Ron has sung in many of the major opera houses and concert halls in the world. He recently starred in a highly acclaimed revival of the Kurt Weill musical, One Touch of Venus in London’s West End. He has been a concert soloist at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.  Ron and his wife, Bronwen, regularly appear in concert together.

Ron Li-Paz’s articles on subjects of Jewish interest have been published in various newspapers and on the web. He has been a regular contributor to InterfaithFamily.com. Recordings have included collaborations with Jack Bielan on Jack Bielan: From the Heart of a Jewish Soul and the single, We Only Lose the Best.  Ron will soon release a classical album, Ron Li-Paz: In Recital.

Ron is a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He worked as a management consultant with Cap Gemini Consulting and was a regular broadcaster on BBC World Service Radio. In 2007, Ron played the role of the rabbi in Barry Levinson’s movie, What Just Happened? starring Robert De Niro, Bruce Willis, Sean Penn, John Turturro and Stanley Tucci. The movie is due for release in 2008.
