Jack Bielan has been Musical Director for Valley Outreach Synagogue since its inception.
Raised in the Beverly-Fairfax area, he has also been a longtime fixture in the Los Angeles music scene. Serving as a studio keyboardist, arranger and conductor, as well as a producer and composer, Jack's varied discography includes a Gold Record award and a place in music history for his arranging efforts on James Taylor's landmark "Sweet Baby James" album and the succeeding single, "Steamroller Blues"/"You've Got A Friend". He has also toured the world as Music Director/Producer for Bobby Vinton, and written for Jobete Music (Motown) and Nashville powerhouse Al Gallico.
Alongside having performed on recordings selling in excess of twenty million copies, Jack regards his spiritual endeavors as "… the most significant part of my creative life." He arranges all of V.O.S.' music (in addition to composing much of it) and is blessed to conduct the mighty Valley Outreach Synagogue Choir. His first original CD, "From The Heart Of A Jewish Soul" (which prominently features Ron and Bronwen Li-Paz) has been called "... a contemporary Jewish masterpiece."
Valley Outreach has always been a family affair for Jack. His daughter Megan has been a superb vocal soloist on the V.O.S. bimah since her seventh birthday, and her mother, Sheri Montrose, was the first V.O.S. cantorial soloist.
In addition to performing in concert with a 22-piece orchestra, Jack has become a renown author, lecturer and composer of contemporary inspirational and recovery-based material. His song, "Serenity", based upon The Serenity Prayer, is sung in Houses of Worship all over the world.
Jack's newest CD is scheduled to debut in the Fall of 2007, and he has just begun work on a live recording of Valley Outreach High Holidays music.
